Presentation
11:00 - 13:00
A few years ago, two famous Frenchmen (Colin & Colin, nephews of Dupont & Dupont) prepared a report on cross border taxation of tech companies of which we all thought that it was ‘’far off’’. It was about taxing tech companies in the country were their services were used, depending on the volume of use. It stepped away from the traditional ‘’permanent establishment’’ discussion and we thought it would never materialize… Fabio and his panel will discuss what has happened since, including the latest EU proposals on taxation of tech companies, aka the Google Tax.
Speaker: Fabio Chiarenza, Partner, Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners

EU Update on ECJ Case Law and State Aid Procedures
We know Koen not only as a gifted tax lawyer, but also as an eloquent speaker who is able to demonstrate in only minutes how little we actually know of EU law… Koen will help us bridging that gap, so that back at the office we can pretend that we know all about it.
Speaker: Koen Morbee, Partner, Tiberghien

Presentation

Multi-Lateral Instrument (MLI) and Related Issues such as PPT, Anti-Abuse, Substance Requirements
When BEPS emerged, we all laid back and thought that we would have some time to get used to new concepts and new anti-abuse measures, because a lot of the new rules needed to be enacted in either local laws or in bilateral tax treaties. Piece of cake. And then someone came up with the idea of the MLI… Albert Collado and his panel will discuss the impact and effectiveness of the MLI by using ‘’agreed concepts.’’
Speaker: Albert Collado, Partner, Garrigues

Presentation
17:20 - 18:30
Tax planning by moving people: tax incentives attracting impatriates, no EU scrutiny?
Everything God and the EU have forbidden in the area of corporate taxation, seems to be allowed in the area of personal income tax. So any country taking itself seriously has enacted legislation attracting either the young and bright talents, or the old and rich who have been talented in the past …In an age where tax planning is about moving people (cows or sheeps are not always very helpful to ensure your substance...), Patrice and his panel will discuss the most noticeable regimes in Europe.
Speaker: Patrice Lefèvre-Péaron, Partner, Jeantet
